As a Driver with Rodriguez Construction Group, your duties will entail transporting materials such as asphalt, gravel, dirt, and construction debris to and from various job sites. Hauling & properly securing heavy machinery on a trailer at times as well. Drivers are expected to maintain excellent customer service with our clients. The following responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed in this position:

  • As a Truck driver with Rodriguez Construction Group, you will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a variety of trucks, including roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and delivery trucks
  • Load and unload materials and equipment onto trucks
  • Transport goods and materials to designated locations
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules for timely deliveries
  • Inspect vehicles pre/post for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to adhere to all DOT laws and regulations
  • Ability to adhere to all Company Policies and procedures
  • The individual is expected to maintain the license, certification, permit, or other credential required to perform the essential duties of the position where the credential is required
  • Maintaining clean equipment and trucks, inside and out, is part of daily work duties
  • Ability to function with a smartphone/tablet

Job Qualifications/Skills:

  • Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Able to drive both standard and automatic transmissions in CDL trucks
  • Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role
  • Ability to drive and work in all weather conditions
  • Driving & Operation: Heavy-duty vehicle operation, maneuvering in tight spaces, off-road driving, backing with trailers.
  • Ability to safely operate and load & secure heavy machinery on trailers.
  • Material loading/unloading, load balancing, knowledge of aggregates/hot mix
  • Knowledge and experience in quarries.
  • Handling and organization of scale tickets and daily work tickets
  • Work is continuous all year long.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  •  1-2 years of Dump Truck Experience is required
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or a general education degree (GED) is required
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL A) with appropriate endorsements
  • MVR must meet company and DOT standards
  • Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA.
  • Protective equipment for this position may be necessary, but not limited to, is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.
  • Compliance with all OSHA regulations
  • Familiarity with various types of trucks and their operation (roll-off, dump truck, etc.)

  • Able to lift and move up to 50-60 pounds regularly
  • Able to climb in and out of truck 3-4 steps (elevated 4+ feet into the cab). (Could be in and out of the truck 20-30 times per day)
  • May require sitting for extended periods
  • Regularly required to speak clearly and hear the spoken word as well
  • Ability to work outdoors in all-weather environments
