Rodriguez Construction Group is looking for a Project Engineer to join our construction team for the Sitework Division. This position will give you the chance to work on some of our firm’s top construction projects. This individual will support the efforts of Project Managers and Superintendents on multiple construction projects at one time. Job Responsibilities:

  • Aid with field-related duties as needed to support field supervisors and project managers; material & equipment ordering, drawing markups and distribution, special inspection scheduling, contract/specification review, change order management and record keeping, subcontractor coordination, etc.
  • Estimating new projects; quantity takeoffs, earthwork calculations, estimate compilation, subcontractor solicitation, building of bids/proposals, etc.
  • Project procurement and development; writing subcontractor/vendor purchase orders, material ordering, project turnover to field supervisors, construction document control, etc.
  • Management of project submittals; build and manage submittal log, assemble submittals, etc.
  • Attend project coordination/manager meetings
  • Collect, organize, review, and file all paperwork provided by the field crews
  • Build project construction schedules (P6 Primavera)
  • Quality control review and development of punchlists
  • Review, build, and manage project budgets and cost codes

Job Qualifications/Skills:

  • Advanced computer skills and ability to use web-based construction management programs, take-off software, scheduling software, and excel based estimating templates, etc.
  • Developed understanding of how to read and navigate plans and specifications
  • Understanding of basic earthwork construction principles and practices
  • Preferred experience managing earthwork, concrete work, asphalt paving work, storm/sanitary sewer installation, waterline installation, landscaping, and lawn restorations, etc.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training, or a willingness to obtain.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Preferred Construction Management or Civil Engineering Degree
  • Experience with Site Work Construction (Preferred 2+ years)

Technical Skills/Programs:

  • Scheduling Software – P6 Primavera
  • Quantity Takeoff Software – On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam
  • Document Management/Annotation – Bluebeam
  • Construction Management Programs – Procore, Building Connected, MasterLibrary, Oracle Textura, eGordian, Raken, etc.
