ABOUT THE JOB

As a Driver with Rodriguez Construction Group, your duties will entail delivering, picking up, or servicing roll-off dumpsters and driving a truck. This position includes but is not limited to, delivery, set up/take down, and final removal of units. Drivers are expected to maintain excellent customer service with our client’s ability to work with other team members in the division.

Job Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed in this position:

As a Dumpster Driver with Rodriguez Construction Group, you will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a variety of trucks, including roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and delivery trucks.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment onto trucks.
  • Transport goods and materials to designated locations.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules for timely deliveries.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to adhere to all DOT laws and regulations.
  • Ability to adhere to all Company Policies and procedures.
  • The individual is expected to maintain the license, certification, permit, or other credential required to perform the essential duties of the position for which the credential is required.
  • Maintaining clean equipment and trucks, inside and out, is part of daily work duties.
  • Ability to function with a smartphone/tablet.

Job Qualifications/Skills:

  •  Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to continually bend, stoop, reach, pull, carry, grab, and lift.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Able to drive both standard and automatic transmissions in CDL trucks.
  • Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of Roll-Off Experience is required.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
  • MVR must meet company and DOT standards.
  • Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA. Protective equipment for this position may be necessary, but not limited to, is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.
  • Compliance with all OSHA regulations.
  • Familiarity with various types of trucks and their operation (roll-off, dump truck, etc.).

  • Able to lift and move up to 50-60 pounds regularly.
  • Able to climb in and out of the truck 3-4 steps (elevated 4+ feet into the cab). (Could be in and out of the truck 20-30 times per day).
  • May require sitting for extended periods.
  • Regularly required to speak clearly and hear the spoken word as well.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all-weather environments.
