ABOUT THE JOB
Rodriguez Construction Group is looking for a construction operator to join our team. This position will give you the chance to work on some of our firm’s top construction projects. This individual will operate various equipment, including graders, tractors, backhoes, front-end loaders, dump trucks, and trash trucks, as well as forklifts and front skid steer loaders.
Job Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed in this position.
- Operation and maintenance/inspection of heavy equipment.
- Assist laborers as necessary to complete daily tasks.
- Potential supplemental duties: concrete work, asphalt paving work, storm/sanitary sewer installation, waterline installation, landscaping and lawn restorations, etc.
Job Qualifications/Skills:
- Formal training and a license.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation (preferred 2+ years)
o Excavators
o Bulldozers
o Wheel/Track Loaders
o Rollers
o Tampers, Buggies, Etc. - Developed understanding of grading and elevation control.
- Experience with GPS and/or machine control.
- Preferred supplemental qualifications: concrete work, asphalt paving work, storm/sanitary sewer installation, waterline installation, landscaping and lawn restorations, etc.
- Ability to read and navigate plans and specifications.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training, or willingness to obtain safety and training certifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- No degree required.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation (preferred 2+ years)
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions and work environments.
- Exposure to hazards or physical risks requires individuals to follow safety precautions.
- Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing over 50 pounds.
