Job Responsibilities:
As a Laborer with our Site Division, you will perform construction or maintenance tasks in diverse settings to produce steady, functional infrastructure and products. This is an ideal position for someone looking to start their career in the construction industry; RCG will provide all the necessary training to learn the trade with extensive growth and development opportunities.
The following responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed in this position:
- Groundman responsible for signaling and working with heavy equipment operators
- Handwork required to grade stone, soils, concrete, asphalt, etc.
- Use of laser levels and/or GPS equipment to confirm and establish grades
- Use of plate tampers, power buggies, jackhammers, hand and walk-behind saws, small loaders, etc.
- Potential supplemental duties: concrete finishing, asphalt paving work, storm/sanitary sewer installation, waterline installation, landscaping, lawn restorations, trucking, etc.
- Safety is the expectation; always follow the required safety practices while performing safety-sensitive duties.
- Performs other tasks as needed
Job Qualifications/Skills:
- Developed understanding of grading and elevation control, and experienced with laser levels and/or GPS
- Understanding of how to assist and control heavy equipment such as excavators
- Preferred supplemental qualifications: concrete work, asphalt paving work, storm/sanitary sewer installation, waterline installation, landscaping, and lawn restorations, trucking (CDL), etc.
- Ability to read and navigate plans and specifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training, or willingness to obtain
Education and Experience Requirements:
- No degree required
- Experience on site work construction projects (Preferred 2+ years).
- Valid driver’s license required
