Job Responsibilities:
As a Superintendent with Rodriguez Construction Group, you will drive production in the field, and your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady
and functional infrastructure and products. This position requires the individual to have the personal attributes to manage, direct, mentor, and support employees
through their daily work. Demonstrates the ability and willingness to maintain a safe jobsite, including disciplining subcontractors as necessary.
The following responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position:
- Provide daily reporting and photo documentation for all active jobs
- Thorough understanding of lead time requirements for materials, selections and work to be performed by others
- General knowledge of the duration and crew size required to complete various tasks
- Thorough understanding of the critical path on a project, the sequence of construction, project phasing and various trade durations
- Has a complete understanding of all subcontractor scopes of work for the project
- Perform accurate takeoffs (lumber, trim, doors, etc.)
- Complete and maintain weekly and incident safety reports
- Manage the commissioning of the building. (If not officially commissioned then manage the MEP engineers’ inspections, punch lists, mechanical
startups, and schedule and document all owner training.) - Thorough technical knowledge and understanding of all finish trade work
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of crew size required for various levels of productivity in every critical path trade
- Collect, organize, and submit all paperwork from the field
- Schedule pickup and delivery of equipment and material in conjunction with project manager
- Oversight/review of all work (quality control) and creation of internal punch lists
- Mentor and train field staff
- Assist crews with workload as necessary to ensure the tasks are completed on schedule
Job Qualifications/Skills:
- Computer skills and the ability to use web-based construction management programs
- Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- 5 or more Years’ Experience in Supervision required or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety, as well as the ability to complete a company-specific safety orientation
- Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to research and solve problems independently
- Read and comprehend all Contract Documents (Mandatory)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training within the past 5 years or willingness to obtain
